How to measure your hat size
Hat size is based on the circumference of the head while our heads come in all sizes and different shapes as well. That’s why you need to know your exact measurements when you’re planning to order your hat on the internet. Follow our step-by-step guide to measure your hat size correctly.
- Step 1: You can use a measuring tape or even a string as your measuring tools. Wrap the tools around your head where your hat usually sits. It will be right above your ear and across your eyebrows.
- Step 2: Use your finger to pull the string around until they meet at the center of your forehead. You can even put one finger under the tape (or string) if you want your hat to have more room and there you have your head circumference!
- Step 3: If you are using a measuring tape, record your measurement in inches or centimeters. And if you are using a string, you will have to mark where it meets and measure the distance with a ruler.
- Step 4: Use the hat size chart to match your head circumference.

Tips when measuring your hat size

Are women’s and men’s hats the same size?
From our experience, both women’s and men’s hats use the same sizing system. The difference we often see that a woman’s head circumference usually falls between 21 inches to 23 inches, while it’s between 22 inches to 24 inches. That means the average hat size is Medium for women and Large for men.
